EXPLORING THE POTENTIAL OF MULTIMEDIA IN HIGHER EDUCATION is the theme of a
conference to be held Wednesday , March 18, 1992 at  Babson College,
Wellesley, MA
 
It is sponsored by NERComP, an association of 50 colleges in the Northeast,
which promotes academic computing
 
This conference is designed for an audience of: faculty and staff concerned
with academic applications of information technology.
 
FEATURED PRESENTATION AND DEMONSTRATION by
 
Dr. Joseph Henderson, Director Interactive Media Lab,Dartmouth Medical School
 
Creating Realities for Learning: Interactive Media, Cyberspace,and Virtual
Environments
 
The application of multimedia  to medical instruction is an excellent
illustration of how far the technology has progressed and indicates its
potential in other disciplines.
 
There will be FOUR PARALLEL SESSIONS with 19 Presenters in four panels during
the day
 
1. The Story behind the Story: effective teaching with multimedia, with first
hand accounts of the factors which lead to success.
 
2. The Anatomy of a Multimedia Development Project, explaining the full cycle
from concept to implementation.
 
3. Getting Started with Multimedia.
First steps to enter the multimedia world.
 
4. Teaching languages in a Business Context with Multimedia.
A report from a multi-college task force.
 
The Chairpersons are Dick Devlin, Director R&D, Information Technology
Services, Babson College and Brenda Prescott, Academic Software Consultant,
Mt. Holyoke College.
 
Registration fees range from $50.00 for member institutions up to $240.00 for
employees of commercial  Program starts at 9:00 a.m.
