I'm finishing up an ASCII version of the guide right now; it's
commissioned to become an RFC (as an FYI). There's also been
substantial call for it to be in a form other than Postscript or DVI
(more than I would've imagined). The present versions are by no means
limited to people with Macintoshes---we at Widener haven't got a
single one on campus. There are programs (dvihp is one I believe)
that will generate a file that can be sent directly to an HP LaserJet,
or a bunch of other printers. Also Postscript cartriges are available
(for as little as $400 [little for a big budget, too much for a small
one]) for a wide range of laser printers, as well.
Hope this helps...I'll drop a line to cnidir & pacs 'bout the ASCII one
when it's finished.
Oh, as a note---the file zen-1.0.PS on nic.sura.net is *OLD*---as
Murphy's Law would have it, I created a new .dvi but forgot to
generate a new .PS until 11pm (after the other sites had gotten them,
and after I'd sent out the announcement). All copies are in sync but
that one. Mail to the guy at SuraNet has gone unanswered and the
file's unchanged. So, if you grabbed it from SuraNet, you might want
to go to somewhere else (list below) & get it. The changes aren't
*really* significant: some info changed in the whois section, some
quotes were missing, and a whorde of typos & grammar errors were
fixed.
Thanks for your interest---the response I've received has been really
amazing!
Sites are:
ftp.cs.widener.edu:/pub/zen
ftp.cs.toronto.edu:/pub/zen

On the Toledo site it's also available in a VMS backup saveset, and is
available from vmsserv@uoft02 for Bitnet users. (Thanks to Brian
Nelson for all of that.)
