Internet Advertising and Marketing Agencies Directory
-- Michael Strangelove, June 1994

DRAFT -- Please do not archive -- this document is an
incomplete draft. The final version will be posted as part of
my Internet Advertising FAQ. Please send comments, corrections
and additions to mstrange@fonorola.net.

This document is a directory of multimedia Internet advertising
and marketing agencies that can be found on WWW and are
accessible via Mosaic. This information is extracted from the
forthcoming book, HOW TO ADVERTISE ON THE INTERNET (August 1994
-- delayed slightly due to carpal tunnel, contact
at380@freenet.carleton.ca for ordering information -- fifty
percent discount for prepaid orders received before September
1st).

NB: Advertising/Marketing Agencies

Send me your story -- tell me what distinguishes you from the
competition -- tell my readers what you are doing to make
Internet-friendly advertising/marketing available to the
business community -- tell me how you are a patron of the Net
and have provided a valuable service or database for free (such
as the Missing Kids Database). I will edit the best replies and
include this info next to your company information in HOW TO
ADVERTISE ON THE INTERNET.

The Internet Marketing Inc., was created by two young
Netrepreneurs, Peter Bray and Michael Bratter. Peter and
Michael have identified Generation X as there primary tarket
market. Their stong graphics background makes for a visually
interesting and creative marketing service. The Internet
Marketing Inc., has combined a Mosaic store front with a Mosaic
magazine, CyberNet, which is accessed 22,000 times a day.
CyberNet is a collection of eclectic information and images
organized under titles such as Anarchy, Cyberspace, Funky,
Hazardous, Kitsch, Noise and Populaire Culture.

"We like to think of ourselves as two hip twentysomethings who
happen to know an awful lot about computers. The Internet is
dominated by people just like us (practically every college kid
has an account). Check out some graphs for proof
(http://www.gatech.edu/pitkow/survey/survey-1-
1994/graphs/results-general.html). We tailor our communications
to this crowd, with emphasis on entertainment as well as
merchandising. Other on-line agencies are composed of very
gifted computer people who do not know a thing about the
Internet community. We do. We're in the groove. After all, we
provide cutting edge marketing for a cutting edge market."

"It is my sincere hope that business on the Internet will make
it more accessible to many more people. This can make it the
perfect communication medium, that could eventually bring
people together as a world. This is because the Internet spans
geographical and racial boundaries. Maybe within our lifetime
we will see this world of ours get together as a planet and
clean up our world, feed our hungry, and live in peace!"

"I would like to empahsize that NetMarket is not a typical
Internet storefront. We do not simply apply a cyberspace
storefront to anyone who comes and pay us a certain fee.
Instead, we spend months researching various services and
companies hat we would be interested in pursuing long-term
ventures with to sell their products to the net community.
NetMarket will only sell products that add intrinsic value and
content to the net and offer Internet users a service they can
not match anywhere else. We refuse to simply sell junk in an
effort to make a quick buck."
