For those who think that PBS and the major daily public news
program is "objective", one should take a look at two issues. One is
how they handled (controlled) the health care debate. The issue of
single payer was a non-issue for the PBS daily news program.
Secondly, the most important labor struggle in American currently
in Decatur Ill where 7% of the work force are on strike. They are
striking Bridgestone/Firestone, Caterpillar Tractor and the Staley
Manufacturing.
On Labor day 1994 over 5,000 workers marched but no mention on
the PBS Daily news program.
One should look at one of the reasons there has been no coverage
on PBS. Staley Manufacturing is owned by ADM one of the biggest
"supporters" of public broadcasting and the Democratic and Republican
politicians.
This blackout is not an accident. It was only after
demonstrations against this PBS daily news program that they were
forced to put on the editor of the Progressive magazine as one "left"
view point.
If you want more information on these issues I can provide it.
