For the last several days, I have been away from the office and have
been unable to attend to the postings on the ROUNDTABLE list. I was
not intending for a disruption in the postings. Assuming I would be
able to monitor the list from the road, I did not notify the list ahead
of time that there would be a disruption of service. As a result, you
will be receiving postings for the period February 4-7 today.
P.S. A large number of people on this list have sent MIME-encoded
postings to the list in the last several months. Please be aware, this
list is not currently equipped to process MIME-encoded messages. Even
if the readers of the list have the MUA required to process a MIME-
encoded message on receipt (which is a *big* assumption), the version
of software available for managing this list will strip the MIME-specific
fields from the header of the message before it is delivered.
Those fields are:
Mime-Version:
Content-Type:
Content-Transfer-Encoding:
Without these fields intact at the point of receipt, the encoded data in
the body of the e-mail message is unusable, even if the recipient does
have a MIME-compliant MUA.
Please, do not send MIME-encoded -- even "QUOTED-PRINTABLE" -- messages
to the ROUNDTABLE list. They will be processed for posting faster if
you don't.
