I missed this the first time around, but can't resist a comment now.
Why is the "far left" - which in America is anyone to the left of Bob
Dole, I guess - perceived as hostile to children? Maybe if you think
the "far left" consists of militant queers clad in nothing but nipple
rings. (By the way, I'm all for such folks being on TV; I'm not one of
those family values lefties.) But if you think the "far left" belives
in a decent minimum income, publicly funded child care, a public
national health insurance scheme, free or low-cost education, decent
wages and job security, rehabilitation of the natural and social
environment, and encouragement of tolerance and cooperation rather
than intolerance and individualized, marketish solutions to everything -
then how can this be perceived as anti-kid?
