re: issue of channel vs content pricing proposals for information
highway access.
One compelling argument against content pricing is the bureaucracy
required to determine the value of the content. I have visions of a
"board" appointed by the President, empowered to determine what the
value of each item "ought" to be. Imagine the delays in getting
information onto the wire, as each tidbit of information is examined,
evaluated, argued over as to its proper "valuation". I shudder at the
prospect, and request names, email addresses and phone numbers of the
appropriate individuals in Washington (FTC?) who might be making such
decisions. Internet has been too convenient, easy and cheap to use to
allow regulators to "help" me use it.
