Educators Alert! The U.S. Congress is cutting kids and the elderly. The
House Appropriations Committee is slashing $1.7 billion from vital programs
aimed at protecting and educating the youth of America. A very important
amendment sponsored by Rep. Richard Durbin, D.-Ill., will be offered today,
March 2, on the House floor (or on March 8 or 9) to restore these funds.
Please call your House member at 202-224-3121 and urge her or him to support
the Durbin Kids and Elderly Amendment in the House of Representatives.
