Mike, very good of you to join the discussion about the
US proposal for the GII. (For those who may not know, Mike
Nelson is one of the Vice President's principal advisors
on the NII/GII)

I'll put the privacy issue to the side for the moment,
if you or the Vice President would be willing to conduct
a more formal exchange with the public interest/non-profit
community about the future of the GII.

It seems to me that the G-7 meeting just completed provides
a opportunity to expand the dialogue about the future of the
GII, much like the original Agenda for Action led to the 
Public Interest conference in Washington.  

Perhaps the next step would be to ask if the Vice President
would be willing to take questions on-line one evening
on the ROUNDTABLE list with the goal of soliciting ideas
for a conference on the future of the GII.
