Jeff made lots of good points, but I question how meaningful the
universal free expression that takes place on mailing lists. Don't get
me wrong, I'm in favor of and strongly support this means of self
expression, but while a few dozen (or hundreds) of us read this content,
30,000,000 American's are watching Seinfeld. The opportunity for free
expression should extend to video and to thousands or millions of people.
What is preventing this from happening today is poorly created cable
regulation. Cable should be a utility like power or phone service. Any
company should be allowed to deliver any service to any customer over a
coaxial cable utility.
