GOP Members Unveil Budget

House Republicans today unveiled their sweeping budget plan, introducing a
program that will eliminate the departments of Commerce, Education and
Energy, 13 agencies, and 294 federal programs. House Budget Chairman John
Kasich says the budget plan would shift power, money and influence from
Washington back to state and local governments. According to the House
plan, a balanced federal budget would be achieved by the year 2002.
