Dear ROUNDTABLE subscribers,
Sorry for the absence of ROUNDTABLE postings in the past several
days. During the last couple of weeks of May, we began to experience
random disk errors on the disk partition which houses the
Unix-Listprocessor management software used to manage this list.
It is an old disk, and I believe it is just wearing out from the
constant read/write processes it takes from this system.
So, rather than continue to operate the system on a disk which
appeared to be failing, I decided to move the system to another
partition on a new disk. I completed that task early this week, and
was able to restore the files which appear to have been corrupted by
bad blocks on the old disk.
The list is up and operating again. Postings of the backlog will
begin shortly. Sorry for any inconvenience the delay may have caused.
