Vigdor, you are indeed a man of principle. Personally, the evidence
of Dole's opportunism - which stretches back across half my lifetime
and more - is clear enough to me to deny credence to any utterance of
his, and to focus instead on the political context.
Yes, there is a crying need for leadership to expose the despicable
degeneracy of the media elite (and their promotion as "art" the work
of toads like Oliver Stone), but my wariness of critters like Dole
precedes yours by a mile, and I cannot bring myself to believe that
anyone currently in a position of power - whether political or
economic - honestly represents the common interest in ordinary
decency. On the contrary, their agenda is - as it always has been -
social control, and their cynical use of common longings for a
civilized environment to achieve those ends is as despicable as the
practices they feign to deplore.
