ADVERTISING INDUSTRY TO SHARE VIEWS WITH CLINTON ADMINISTRATION'S
TELECOMMUNICATIONS POLICY COMMITTEE
WHO/WHAT: All interested persons are invited to attend
a meeting of the Clinton Administration's
Information Infrastructure Task Force's
Telecommunications Policy Committee. The
meeting will be chaired by Larry Irving,
administrator of the National
Telecommunications and Information
Administration(NTIA). At the meeting, high
level advertising industry executives will
give a presentation titled "The Strategic
Vision for the Future: Opportunities and
Hurdles to Overcome," which will address the
role of advertising in the Information Age.
WHEN/WHERE: Thursday, July 27, 1995, 2:30 p.m. to 4:00
p.m. in Room 1412 of the Department of
Commerce, 14th and Constitution, Washington,
D.C.

The TPC helps formulate Administration
positions on key telecommunications issues.
The Committee reports to the Information
Infrastructure Task Force (IITF), which is
chaired by Secretary of Commerce Ronald H.
Brown, and is charged with articulating and
implementing the Clinton Administration's
visions for a National Information
Infrastructure (NII) and a Global Information
Infrastructure (GII). The Task Force
consists of high-level representatives of the
Federal agencies that play a major role in
the development and application of
information and telecommunications
technologies.
The Commerce Department's National
Telecommunications and Information
Administration serves as principal advisor to
the President, Vice President, and Secretary
of Commerce on domestic and international
telecommunications policies. Information
about NTIA and the Clinton Administration's
National Information Infrastructure
initiative, commonly known as the information
superhighway, is available on the Internet:
