Subject: Re: TIIAP funding


The Senate is expected to hold an up-or-down vote tonight (Thursday) at 
9 pm on the Kerrey-Snowe-Leahy amendment to H.R.2076, the Commerce, 
Justice, State appropriations bill. The amendment would restore $18.9  
million for the TIIAP program for FY96.  If this amendment fails, the 
TIIAP program could be completely eliminated.

As of 7 pm, the vote appears too close to call but seems to lean toward
*not* passing.
