Curtiss -
The headline of your post should have read PRESSLER ASKS AT&T TO
DROP ADS...
In fact, AT&T and The Competitive Long Distance Coalition, which
sponsored the tv spots along with consumer groups, both issued statements
Friday evening saying that we are standing behind the advertising effort.
Far from dropping the ads, the CLDC is making arrangements to run
them as widely as possible. The Times article, by Ed Andrews, also quoted
Brad Stillman of the Consumer Federation of America as criticizng
Pressler for, in Stillman's words, abusing his power as a Senator in an
effort to stifle public debate.

P.S. MCI is a member of the CLDC and a co-sponor of the ads.
