See also The Washington Post A7 Sunday December 3, 1995 "Compromise
Closer on Restricting Smut on the Internet." The article starts "A
consensus is forming among lawmakers, businesses and civil liberties
advocates over how to craft legislation that would crack down on people
who transmit sexually explicit material on the Internet." The article
concludes "Hyde's amendment is scheduled as the first vote Tuesday,
Exon said. White's (compromise) amendment would follow as a substitute.
The winner would have to negotiate with Exon."
Anyone have a copy of the White Compromise Amendment?
The article also notes that Rep. White represents a district that includes
Microsoft.
