I have just received confirmation from both House and Senate
staffers that Rep. Goodlatte (R-VA) proffered a revision to the
White amendment, substituting "indecency" for "harmful to children."
The House conferees passed the White provision, as amended, on a
vote of 20 to 13.

This effectively means the conference committee will approve
something similar to the original Exon, according to staffers.

The issue is pretty much off the table, since now both the Senate
and House have "similar" proposals. What remains to be worked out
are the differences in the "defenses to prosecution" between Exon and
White as amended.
