A STRUCTURE OF THE NEXT POLITICAL REVOLUTION:
The end of capitalism & triumph of democracy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Abstract
Since the time when prehistory ended, as the creative
possibilities awakened in the human species, about four
millennium ago, humankind has been exploring the inner
and outer universe. With neither plan nor method
Americans specially have attacked both time and space
with abandon, until now, with both glorious and appalling
results. Confronted by the growing devastation of both
culture and ecology, we have begun to envision an ethic
of democratic "sustainability," and how to realize it.
In this essay I track that evolution, and revolutionary
history, and the dramatic impact this may now have upon
our American ideas about capitalism and democracy. Also,
the essay explores the dangers of mass communications,
under the control of big business, and the need to secure
free access by the Press and the People to valid and
relevant public information. In sum, a context is
offered for the dazzling challenges and opportunities
of the emerging philosophy of the Information Age.
