Awards and Fellowships
To honor the memory of CNI Founding Executive Director Paul Evan Peters, the Coalition sponsors an award and a fellowship in his name.
The
Paul Evan Peters Award recognizes notable, lasting achievements in the creation
and innovative use of information resources and services that advance scholarship
and intellectual productivity through communication networks. Representatives
from the Association of Research Libraries, EDUCAUSE, and the Coalition for
Networked Information choose a winner of the award approximately every two years.
The Paul Evan Peters Fellowship is intended to assist students pursuing graduate studies in the information sciences or librarianship who demonstrate intellectual and personal qualities consistent with those of Peters, including commitment to the use of networked information and advanced technology to enhance scholarship, intellectual productivity and public life; support of democratic values; humor and imagination.
