Mission Statement

The mission of PALINET is to assist libraries and information centers in the delivery of high quality, cost-effective services through the application of technologies which foster information access, resource sharing and interlibrary cooperation.

One of PALINET's goals through which it achieves its mission is:

Goal 6. Linkages

Libraries, information centers, and their users will have cost- effective access to regional, national and international information resources through the linking of local systems and through connections to various telecommunication networks. Comment: Goal 6 deals with the increasing need for linkages among local library systems, campus networks, and general information delivery networks, including the planned National Research and Education Network (NREN).
