Subject: What Authors Want

ALPSP (Association of Learned, Professional and Society Publishers in
the UK, similar to SSP in the usa)a not for profit organisation of
publishers has recently carried out a survey and produced a report -
What Authors Want.
This large scale survey of contributors to learned journals received a
30% response rate from the 11500 authors surveyed to 4 key areas:
What motivates authors to publish in journals?
How authors decide where to publish?
What are authors concerned about in the publishing system today?
What changes or future expectations authors have regarding the
publishing process?
This large body of research provides evidence of what authors really
think and want and is of interest to librarians, information providers,
publishers, editors and authors themselves.

Thank you for your time.
Anne
