I have found some information that might be helpful as we address these
issues. The Economics and Statistics Administration of the Bureau of the
Census has a publications "Annual Survey of Communication Services: 1991"
put out July 1993. The 50 page report has very specific numbers on the
industry. Copies are free. Call 301-763-5528.
A few numbers of interest:
Total Revenues (1991)
Total Communications Industry: 217 billion
Telephone: 159 billion
(Radiotelephone) ( 3.5 billion)
(All other telephone) (155.5 billion)
Radio and Television 29.5 billion
(radio) ( 7 billion)
(television) ( 22.5 billion)
Cable and Pay TV 23 billion
