So, too, is the Seattle area active. In addition to citizens developing
citizen networks, the libraries are defining a role for information
distribution and outreach; the local jurisdictions are looking at
major infrastructure deployment in defining needs through the cable
refranchising initiatives; and the City of Seattle has convened a
regional group to look at public telecommunications coordination.
Certainly in the midst of high tech companies, in a state which relies
on export and with one of the most livable environments, people from
legislators to administrators to activists all see benefits in an
infrastructure.
