Barbara Dewey

Barbara Dewey is currently Dean of Libraries at the University of Tennessee,
Knoxville. Before joining the University of Tennessee in 2000, she held
several administrative positions at the University of Iowa Libraries,
including Interim University Librarian and Director, Information and Research
Services. Prior to her work at Iowa she was Director of Admissions at
Indiana Universitys School of Library and Information Science; Reference
and Interlibrary Loan Librarian, Northwestern University; and Head of
Reference and Adult services for the Minnesota Valley Regional Library
in Mankato, Minnesota.
Ms. Dewey is the author or editor of four books and has published articles
and presented papers on a variety of research library topics, including
digital libraries, technology, user education, fundraising, and human
resources. She holds an M.A. in library science, a B.A. in sociology and
anthropology from the University of Minnesota, and a certificate in Public
Management from Indiana University.
