The InscriptiFact Project is a database designed to allow access via
the Internet to high-resolution images of ancient inscriptions from
the Near Eastern and Mediterranean worlds. It is intended to benefit
students, philologists, archaeologists, linguists, and other scholars
interested in these areas of study as well as serving as an educational
resource for the general public. The InscriptiFact Internet Database
Prototype is now available as a platform independent application and
database with a test set of 840 images. An additional 5000 images will
be available by the end of 2003, with funding for 20,000 images by 2006.
