Home / Topics / Access & Equity / An Update from Project Lend: Unlocking the Potential for Digital Books in Higher Education (Lightning Round)

November 18, 2024

Rice Majors
Associate University Librarian for Scholarly Resources
University of California, Davis

The session will share in-depth findings from an expansive two-year investigation into expanding the lawful use of digitized books held by academic and research libraries. The project included a rigorous user needs assessment—exploring potential use cases that would support research, teaching, and learning across higher education, based on 36 focus groups of users from colleges and universities across the United States. The presentation will also include a high-level discussion of legal and technical considerations.
