The US RAiD Pilot is an NSF-funded initiative to bring RAiD services and infrastructure to the United States. This initiative is led by the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC), part of the University of California (UC) San Diego School of Computing, Information and Data Sciences (SCIDS), in partnership with Lyrasis, a nonprofit organization serving libraries, archives, museums and related knowledge communities. The goal of the two-year pilot is to establish RAiD technical infrastructure, work with interested organizations to pilot the RAiD service, and determine a sustainable business model for US organizations interested in using RAiD beyond the pilot/grant period.
