Sustainable Digital Innovation: Key Factors from a Successful Higher Education Model

August 28, 2024

Wayne Morse, Digital Transformation Consultant

Crafting a sustainable ecosystem for digital scholarship within higher education requires a skillful blend of key components (and some luck). Alignment of a digital scholarship team’s work with institutional goals, community engagement opportunities, faculty research areas, staff expertise, and students’ interests while working to ensure sustainable resources requires a multi-faceted approach. Often, investments of time and funds require a longer term than is sometimes comfortable but can produce key elements for continued success. This presentation shares a digital transformation consultant’s extensive experience in the areas of innovative digital pedagogy and scholarship with Emory University in creating successful teams of scholars, technologists, and students while co-leading this group through the challenges of financial constraints, changing institutional leadership, and ever-evolving technology.
