Artificial Intelligence for Libraries, Archives and Museums (AI4LAM) is an international organization that convenes professionals from across the LAM sectors to share knowledge and collaboratively advance the responsible implementation of AI in the LAM and cultural heritage sectors. Since 2018, the organization has hosted the annual Fantastic Futures conference; since 2021, the group has convened monthly community calls and formed working groups; and in 2025, AI4LAM is forming as an official membership organization hosted by the National Library of Norway. This lightning talk will share information about how to join AI4LAM and contribute to the first grassroots strategic plan for the organization. The 2026 Fantastic Futures meeting will be hosted in Washington, DC, on September 14-18, 2026.
