We are delighted to announce that the call for submissions for the 21st International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC27) is now open! The conference will take place in Lisbon, Portugal between 9-12 February 2027.
Conference Theme
The main theme of the conference is, FAIR DO’s: Centering People in the Stewardship and Curation of Digital Objects.
The FAIR principles emphasize machine actionability, but the increasing integration of artificial intelligence systems into data infrastructure carries the risk of marginalizing people in the planning, management, and practice of digital curation.
The theme of this year’s conference acknowledges the crucial role of people in the work of making digital objects FAIR. This includes the labour involved, how it is recognized, supported, and the values that guide this work. You can get more information about the theme on our Conference Theme page.
Call for Submissions open!
Submissions are open for papers, lightning talks, posters, demos, and workshops:
– Papers – are for research or practice work which is suitably advanced, has substantial results, and reflections that would inform the work of the digital curation community.
– Lightning Talks – give an opportunity to showcase work in progress or completed projects that you believe offers insights or practical lessons that advance digital curation research or practice.
– Posters – offer a great opportunity to showcase and promote your work to the community through images rather than just words, as well as interact with others, gather feedback and exchange ideas.
– Demos (new for IDCC27) – showcase an application to the digital curation community.
– Workshops – have focused on practical, hands-on work, often being used for training.
