Working Together:
Introduction to the Project

In 1994, the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI) initiated a project to provide structured workshops to help library and information technology professionals improve their ability to collaborate and build partnerships with colleagues, particularly on projects related to networked information resources and services. The workshops began by exploring both commonalities and differences that might "provide the fuel for the kind of creative and innovative approaches that develop when individuals and groups see problems from a new perspective."

The program was designed for teams of senior library and information technology professionals and administrators from large universities and research institutions, but soon expanded to offer workshops for smaller colleges and more specialized professional groups.
