The Internet2 Research and Development Agenda

Home / Project Briefing Pages / CNI Fall 2009 Project Briefings / The Internet2 Research and Development Agenda

December 16, 2009

Randall Frank
Chief Technology Officer
Internet2

In addition to operating one of the major research and education (R&E) backbone networks, Internet2 has had a long history of managing an aggressive set of research and development projects designed to enable the R&E community to take advantage of enhanced network capabilities. This talk will review some of the on-going projects in areas such as performance measurement, authentication, high performance and real time dataflows, and will discuss plans for 2010 and beyond. Particular emphasis will be placed on projects that intersect with the needs of the CNI community, as well as discussing how current Internet2 projects such as InCommon already have an important role in this community.
