Cyberinfrastructure
The advanced networking environment of the Internet has led to many new opportunities for researchers. Coordinating access to high-performance networks, tools, trained personnel, and content adds up to building cyberinfrastructure for research. While cyberinfrastructure originally was applied to scientific research, it now includes discussion of digital scholarship in the humanities and social sciences. CNI is concerned with the institutional and cross-institutional development of technical infrastructure, with a particular focus on large-scale storage and data management and on collaboration tools and environments. We also promote the integration of investments in national level research infrastructure and campus-level investments.
