Yale University has made a major commitment to the sustainable management of its digital assets through the creation of the Office of Digital Assets and Infrastructure (ODAI) within the Office of the Provost. The mission of this office is to lead the creation of a campus-wide digital information strategy and to develop cyberinfrastructure to support digital asset creation, management, dissemination, and preservation. ODAI collaborates across domain communities to develop campus-wide policies, to encourage the exchange of successful practices, and to create the technical environment essential to sustainable digital stewardship.

This session reviews the organizational, cultural, and architectural considerations that led to the establishment of ODAI at Yale University and provides a brief on its first year of activities.
