Mixed Content and Mixed Metadata in the NSDL

Home / Project Briefing Pages / CNI Spring 2004 Project Briefings / Mixed Content and Mixed Metadata in the NSDL

April 3, 2004

William Y. Arms
Professor, Computer Science
Cornell University

The National Science Digital Library (NSDL) is notable for the extreme variety of its content and the range of metadata, from excellent to negligible. As part of their work for the NSDL Core Integration, researchers at Cornell are developing methods for building digital library services with mixed metadata and content. This briefing will emphasize recent developments in information discovery that apply to highly heterogenous collections.
